Malta Ambassador to Romania pays farewell visit to the Romanian Patriarchate

On February 9, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Romania, His Excellency Lino Bianco, paid a farewell visit to the Romanian Patriarchate. The Maltese delegation was greeted by His Grace Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop Paisie of Sinaia.

The guests were welcomed at the “Saint John Cassian” chamber of the Patriarchal Palace.

“On behalf of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, we extend our sincere congratulations to Your Excellency on concluding your diplomatic mission in Romania. We want to extend our sincere appreciation for the substantial diplomatic endeavours undertaken throughout your mandate,” His Grace Bishop Paisie said.

On behalf of Patriarch Daniel, the patriarchal auxiliary bishop thanked Ambassador Bianco for his substantial assistance in developing the Romanian communities in Malta.

The discussion addressed several significant events: the Days of Romanian Culture in Malta, which the President of Malta generously sponsored; the exhibition “100 years of Romanian architecture in Malta”; the establishment of a Romanian language study module at the University of Malta; and the approval of more than 15 ERASMUS agreements, the majority of which were for faculty members from the Faculties of Theology.

“I am honoured to meet Your Excellency and appreciate the opportunity to get to know you. I would also like to thank you for inspiring young students from Iasi, Chisinau, and Alba Iulia and for participating in many actions geared at the Church and bilateral relations between the two states,” His Grace noted.

“Your availability exemplifies the character of a professional, devoted individual with high moral standards who is a highly engaged person who, in his capacity as an architecture professor, strives to instil genuine values in future generations of students via ERASMUS mobility internship support, public courses, conferences, and valuable donations of specialised books,” bishop Paisie of Sinaia said in conclusion.

Bishop Paisie presented the Maltese Ambassador with the album “Romanian Patriarchate – history, organization, internal and external activities”.
