Senior Students of the Greek Diaspora Schools of Constantinople visit Greece
On 27 to 31 March 2024, senior students from the Great Patriarchal School of the Nation, the Zappeion Girls’ School, the Zografeion Lyceum, as well as the Lyceum of Imbros, visited Athens and the beautiful Messinia with their teachers.
During their short stay in Athens, they visited the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. The seniors of the Greek Diaspora Schools of Constantinople and Imbros spent most of their short visit to Greece in Messinia. There they had the opportunity to visit the archaeological sites of the area and take part in various cultural and environmental activities. They also visited local schools where they met and spoke with their peers.
This educational excursion, which was carried out with the assistance of the Captain Vassilis and Carmen Konstantakopoulou Foundation, in collaboration with the Association for the Support of Greek (Rum) Community Institutions, gave the opportunity to the students of Constantinople to come into contact with the customs and traditions of Messinia and to get to know the culture of the region up close. The official airline sponsor was Aegean Airlines.
