Baptisms of 100 newly illumined Orthodox Christians in Uganda
On Wednesday, 3 July 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Bartholomew of Poliana and Kilkis, who is currently undertaking an official missionary visit for twelve days within the Holy Metropolis of Kampala of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, made his way together with His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kampala and the members of his entourage, to the Kogi region of Uganda, where they performed outdoor baptisms of 100 newly illumined Orthodox Christians. His Eminence Metropolitan Bartholomew of Poliana and Kilkis had the opportunity to give 8 newly baptised children the names of the same number of the immediate Hierarchical predecessors of His Eminence.
Metropolitan Bartholomew then performed the blessing of the foundation of the new Church of the local Parish, dedicated to Saint Mark the Apostle and Evangelist.
