Statement issued by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East Damascu

In reference to the recent publications circulating on social media and claiming that Bishop Boulos Yazigi has been found alive, and after the Patriarchate investigated the matter directly and identified the person in question in the hospital and examined him thoroughly medically and scientifically;

The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East states that what is being circulated is false and that the person referred to is not Bishop Boulos Yazigi.
The Church of Antioch prays, works, and places this file as its major concern, asking God from the bottom of the hearts of its children for the two kidnapped bishops Boulos Yazigi and Youhanna Ibrahim, whose case epitomizes that of every kidnapped and distressed person. This case represents only part of the cross of this Levant that is seeking the dawn of resurrection.
