Meeting of the Patriarch with the Bishops and Priests of Damascus and its Countryside

His Beatitude Patriarch John X met with the Bishops and Priests of the Archdiocese of Damascus and its Countryside at the Patriarchate in Damascus. During the meeting, they discussed the concerns of Church ministry during the critical phase that Syria is going through. They emphasized the role of priests in serving the faithful valiantly, strengthening their trust in God’s mercies and relying on Him, standing by them and giving them comfort and hope. Priests were to give an example and be a role model in the responsibility of reasonable conduct, solidarity and concerted efforts to preserve the testimony of the Church and its unity. In addition, they were to intensify prayers and supplications to the Child of the Cave, especially during the upcoming holidays, to preserve peace and unity in the country of peace for the good of all the people in our beloved Syria.
