Girl dressed in tradition Kalymnos attire greets Archbishop of Thyateira & Great Britain in Southampton

The Archbishop of Thyateira & Great Britain, His Eminence Nikitas, received a pleasant surprise earlier this month, when he visited the south England port city of Southampton, where he was greeted, among others, by a young girl dressed in the tradition attire of the eastern Aegean island of Kalymnos, from where the Archbishop hails.

His Eminence visited the well-known port city on the Feast Day of St. Nicholas, on Dec. 6, officiating at a Divine Liturgy at an Orthodox Church dedicated to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of seafarers.

The child from Kalymnos, Ioanna Tatsi, lives with her family in Southampton. She welcomed Nikitas and also handed him a letter sent by the Metropolitan of Kalymnos, His Eminence Paisios.
