Traditional Russian commemoration in central Athens – (PHOTOS + VIDEOS)

The courtyard of the historic church of the Holy Trinity in central Athens off Philellinon Ave., known as the “Russian Church”, was the setting for the holding of a traditional Russian custom on Sunday, after the Divine Liturgy.

The event commemorates the Sunday of Forgiveness, also known in the ecclesiastical calendar as Cheesefare Sunday.

Children were treated to crepes on the first day of March, as Archimandrite Fr. Synesios Viktoratos also handed out sweets and candy to the performing children.
