The Lenten Retreat in the Institute of Theology – Balamand

On Sunday, March 1, 2020, the family of the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology began the Forty-day Lenten journey with a spiritual retreat in the Monastery of Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchate.

The retreat includes a series of spiritual talks which began with His Grace Qais Sadiq, Bishop of Erzurum, who gave a talk on “Christian Life and Resurrection”, explaining the joy of Resurrection as the light of repentance and the Resurrection of Christ as the mystery by which our sins are forgiven. After the talk, Vespers were held followed by asking forgiveness in the church of Our Lady, in the monastery.
