The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, on Sunday referred to what he called a “powerful distortion” of Christian faith amid an increasingly globalized society.

During his sermon on the Sunday of Orthodoxy at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, the Russian Patriarch bemoaned the fact that modern man, as he said, in a quest to find meaning to his life, is consuming more and more consumer goods. He added that, without doubt, human civilization based on such a principle is not viable.
