Uganda Orthodox Church: Services suspended for a month due to Covid-19 outbreak

On March 18, 2020, the government of Uganda suspended with immediate effect, Church services for a period of one month. “Lord have Mercy!”. This is due to the worldwide outbreak of the deadly CoronaVirus COVID-19 that has so far claimed a multitude of lives internationally.

This announcement was made by His Excellency President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Other suspended activities included schools, weddings and all public gatherings for a period of 32 days.

For as long as this suspension persists, the Church will use available Digital Media means/platforms to share spiritual content with the Orthodox faithful within and abroad!
