Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology cancels graduation ceremony; virtual gathering to be livestreamed

The Hellenic College – Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology announced that it will not hold its annual graduation exercises on May 9, as had been planned prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, in following the example of other academic institutions throughout the United States, a virtual gathering will be held and live-streamed for viewing by graduates and their loved ones.

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, had been scheduled to attend the graduation, which was on the itinerary of his official visit to the United States – a visit which, however, was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
