Ceremony of the Holy Flame live-streamed from Jerusalem – (VIDEO)

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem reminded this week that the faithful from around the world can watch the ceremony of the lighting of the Holy Flame — annually held on Holy Saturday inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem – via a live connection on the Patriarchate’s official Facebook page.

In a related development, the Romanian Orthodox Church announced this week that it had reached an agreement with the country’s interior ministry to allow the transport of the Holy Flame to the residences of people that wished to receive it. The door-to-door transfer of the Holy Flame, or Holy Light, will be conducted by volunteers from law enforcement , accompanied by volunteers from local parishes.

A video re-posted today on the pages of the Orthodoxia News Agency showcases the restoration works at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, a project undertaken by a team from the Athens Polytechnic. The head of the team, civil engineering professor Tonia Moropoulou, provides a tour of restored interior of the iconic cathedral.
