Interview by Bishop Metropolitan of Montenegro to Orthodoxia News Agency – (VIDEO)

The Bishop Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Eminence Amphilochios, this week gave an exclusive interview to the Orthodoxia news agency and journalist Maria Giachnaki.

Speaking via Skype, His Eminence referred to the present ordeal faced by humanity from the invisible threat of the coronavirus.

Amphilochios also detailed the centuries of trials and tribulations faced by the Church, as well as the “torch” of Orthodoxy that was passed on by Greek Orthodoxy to the Serb nation.

The Metropolitan Bishop of Montenegro also spoke, in emotional terms, about St. Justin Popovic, his spiritual father.

Amphilochios lamented what he called a decision by the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece to acquiesce to the strict restrictions imposed by the Greek state on public assembly, which covers church-going.

Finally, he discussed his arrest on Palm Sunday by Montenegro authorities, over alleged violations of coronavirus-related restrictions in the small Adriatic country.
