Today is the 2nd Monday after Pascha, the Holy and Great Easter.
The Church commemorates the Hieromartyr Symeon, Kinsman of the Lord.
He was the son of Clopas or Cleopas, the brother of Joseph the Betrothed.
Symeon became the second Bishop of Jerusalem, as a successor to James the Brother of God.
Symeon achieved the crown of martyrdom when he was crucified during the reign of Trajan.
