Ecumenical Patriarch, Patriarch of All Romania reportedly propose common course in deflecting attacks on Church, Holy Communion
The permanent Holy Synod will again convene on Tuesday, the first session since churches and cathedrals in the country were reopened for services in the presence of worshippers, after two months of a restrictive Covid-19 lockdown.
According to information gleaned by the Orthodoxia news agency, members of the Church of Greece’s Holy Synod have received a letter by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew, and the Patriarch of All Romania, His Beatitude Daniel, over the need to chart a common course in the face of continued attacks, often bordering on the blasphemous, against the Church and the Holy Communion.
Orthodoxy and its ancient and junior Churches have been steadfast in underlining that the Holy Eucharist is not, and cannot, be a source of transmission of diseases, pointing directly to nearly 2,000 years of ecclesiastical tradition and historicity.
