Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis continued his official visit to Israel and the Holy Land on Wednesday, with the agenda of talks with Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu including the issue of stability in the wider eastern Mediterranean region, as well as the latest Turkish provocations.

Several bilateral agreements were signed by the Israeli and Greek sides in the sectors of defense, investments, cyber-security, energy and tourism, as the two countries have reached a strategic level cooperation in recent years .

On the sidelines of his official talks, Mitsotakis also toured the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, where he was greeted and given a tour of one of Christianity’s holiest sites by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos III.

Mitsotakis was first welcomed at the Patriarchate’s main gate by the Jerusalem Patriarch and elders of the Hagiotaphite Brotherhood.

The Greek state will always stand by the Jerusalem Patriarchate and the great mission it is undertaking in this difficult and, at the same time, exciting city and region,  Mitsotakis told reporters covering the visit.
