One and a half ton of feta cheese donated to US, Greek churches
Greek Agricultural Organization “Elgo-Dimitra” has donated a ton and a half of feta cheese to churches and philanthropic organizations in Greece and the US, including 57 kilos to New York City’s ‘City Meals on Wheels’.
Another 80 kilos was provided to the Archdiocesan Cathedral Philoptochos Society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
The rest of the cheese was distributed to churches and philanthropic organizations in Athens, Thessaloniki and Volos.
The 1,550 kilograms of feta was intended for use in various feta promotional activities in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the US and Canada that have been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
