Framework for religious classes in Greek Ecclesiastical junior high school and high schools finalized

The Greek government on Thursday unveiled the framework for the instruction of religious lessons in the country’s Ecclesiastical junior high school and high schools, with the specific lesson to be taught for two hours a week at the middle school level.

The curriculum will include the Gospels, the Church’s liturgy, ecclesiastical history, Byzantine music, Church fathers and noted theologians, as well as ecclesiastical art and iconography.

The same number of instruction hours per week will apply to 10th and 11th grades, and one hour per week for the senior grade of high school.
