Greek culture minister tours Dodecanese isles

Greece’s culture minister, Lina Mendoni, continued a tour of several Dodecanese islands in the southeast Aegean, visiting historic cathedrals, monasteries and other monuments.

Better promoting Orthodox and the Hellenic heritage of the Aegean islands – which have been at the epicenter of Greek civilization for millennia – has recently come to the forefront, amid unprecedented belligerence and saber-rattling in the east Mediterranean by the Islamist Erdogan administration in Turkey.

So far, the Greek minister toured the islands of Leros, Symi and Kastellorizo. On Symi she inaugurated the fully renovated museum on the isle.
