The civil governor of Mount Athos, Athanasios Martinos, met on Wednesday with the Greek foreign ministry’ s general secretary for public diplomacy and expatriate Hellenism, Yannis Chrysoulakis. Talks revolved on Mount Athos’ historical, ecclesiastical and spiritual significance for Orthodoxy, as well as the semi-autonomous monastic community’s international influence.
