The Church today venerates the memory of Amphilochius, Bishop of Iconium, a 4th century contemporary of St. Basil the Great.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Orthodox Christians around the world – based on the Gregorian calendar – commemorated the Feast of the Entrance into the Temple of Our Most Holy Lady — the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary.

The Feast commemorates, when as a young child, the Virgin Mary entered the Temple in Jerusalem.

In honor of the religious feast day, a massive hologram was projected on the façade of Greece’s Parliament Building in central Athens, depicting an icon of the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus.
