Raffle car winner donates prize to needy
Memnia Leotsakou from Famagusta bought the raffle ticket to support fundraising efforts to renovate the church of Panayia Panayiotissa in Protaras, the bishop said in a post on Facebook.
The draw was held on December 6 and the car was handed over to the winner on Tuesday. The winner’s son Alexandros was on hand to take delivery of the car. But as the bishop said in his post, the winner informed church officials that she was donating the car to a family in need. “This is an act of genuine love,” the bishop said as he thanked Leotsakou.
