The Christmas celebration began of Christmas Eve, which based on the Julian calendar fell on Wednesday, Jan. 6.

In a Christmas message, the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Divine Beatitude Theophilos III, noted that the Church is not only testament to the presence of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but a continuation of Ηis Word.

He added, the Church is “…an oasis, a source of life-giving water in the desert of this world’s loneliness; a place of prayer to heal those affected by the Covid-19 virus.”
