Georgia celebrated the Orthodox Christmas on Thursday. The Christmas liturgy was served at the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral in Tbilisi on Wednesday night, January 6, 2021.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II performed the Christmas service. The Patriarch addressed the parishioners and wished happy Christmas to them and the whole of Georgia.

The Christmas Alilo procession was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, though the clergy will congratulate the population by chanting and pouring blessed water from the motor vehicles.
