Support of the continued teaching of ancient Greek

  The Flemish-language newspaper De Standaard on Monday reported on a same-dayrally by pupils and teachers in the Belgian city of Ghent in support of the continued teaching of ancient Greek and Latin in the country’s secondary schools.

Some 1,000 pupils and 100 teachers participated in the rally, with De Standaard noting that debate in the country over the merits of Classical language study has been revived in Belgium.
