Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I ordains new Metropolitan of France, Dimitrios
The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Sunday officiated at the Divine Liturgy held at the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. George, in the Bosporus metropolis’ Phanar district.
Several Metropolitans and hierarchs of the Patriarchal throne attended the service. During the Divine Liturgy, His All Holiness performed the ordination of the new Metropolitan of France, Dimitrios.
Prior to the ordination of the elected Metropolitan of France, the Ecumenical Patriarch addressed to him paternal words, while instructing him on his new mission of ministry, entrusted to him by the Mother Church.
In a related development, the Ecumenical Patriarch on Monday officiated at a solemn Divine Liturgy at the celebrating cathedral of St. Paraskevi in Constantinople’s Pikridi community, on the occasion of the feast day of the second century martyr and saint.
