The Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate referred to the nation’s saints and heroes in commemoration of the Feast Day of the Holy Ascension

In Bucharest, the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate, in an announcement on Thursday, referred to the nation’s saints and heroes, in commemoration of the Feast Day of the Holy Ascension, which coincides with Heroes’ Day in the country.

The day is celebrated on the 40th day from Orthodox Easter. Although not a public holiday, the day is observed with military and religious festivities at monuments dedicated to national heroes.
