The Feast Day of Saint Nikodemos the Hagiorite in his birthplace of Naxos

On Friday, 14 July 2023, a Poly-Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place on the occasion of the feast day of Saint Nikodemos the Hagiorite, with the participation of the local authorities and a large number of faithful.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Holy Parish Church of Saint Nikodemos in the city of Naxos, and was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia, (who also officiated at the Matins), and was joined by Their Eminences, Metropolitan Georgios of Thebes and Livadeia and Avlida, Metropolitan Theoklitos of Ierissos, Mount Athos and Ardamerion, Metropolitan Ieronymos of Larissa and Tyrnavos and the local Shepherd, Metropolitan Kallinikos of Paros and Naxos.

The Holy Hierarchs were joined in the Divine Liturgy by clergy both from Naxos and Paros, as well as from various regions of Greece and abroad. During the chanting of the Koinonikon, the homily was preached by His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia.

Before the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Metropolitan Kallinikos of Paros and Naxos thanked the visiting Hierarchs for their participation in the Feast Day celebrations, the clergy for their presence at the Divine Liturgy and the chanters who so beautifully chanted the hymns, as well as the priests of the Parish Church and their co-workers for the entire preparation and offered his blessing and wishes to all present.

After this, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messia, responded to Metropolitan Kallinikos and expressed his thanks for the loving invitation of the Metropolitan, interpreting the sentiments of the other Hierarchs, and offered his wishes to the pious people.
