Metropolis of New Jersey 2024 Hellenic Folk Dance Festival

On Saturday, January 13, 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey began the festivities for the 33rd Annual Greek Orthodox Metropolis Hellenic Folk Dance Festival in Annapolis, Maryland with the Agiasmos Service.

In his opening address, His Eminence welcomed the over 400 youth Greek dancers, together with their families, instructors, friends and supporters to the 2024 FDF, congratulated the co-chairs, the Rev. Kosmas Karavellas and Mrs. Felicia Nolan together with the host community for their tremendous efforts, and dedicated this year’s FDF to all the innocent children throughout the world who have died and are dying everyday in war. His Eminence asked also to remember all of our ancestors and loved ones, who came from the motherland, Greece, bringing our beautiful traditions that have led to the establishment of this beautiful program.

Following His Eminence’s remarks, the first round of dancing began as the children from 12 parishes from the sacred Metropolis of New Jersey showcased their talents and love for our rich Hellenic Culture as they showcased traditional dances from throughout Greece.
