8th int’l scientific con’f on 200th anniversary of beginning of Greek War of Independence this week

The secretary of a special Church of Greece synodical committee on cultural identity, Fr. Bartholomew Antoniou, spoke to the Orthodoxia News Agency this week, on the occasion of the upcoming 8th international scientific conference, a series of events on the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek War of Independence (1821-2021).

The conference will take place on Friday in the auditorium of Church of Greece’s synodical hall in central Athens, and will be inaugurated by Archbishop Ieronymos.

Fr. Bartholomew refers to the decisive role played by the Orthodox Church in Greece’s independence struggle.
