Abbot of Holy Monastery of Koutloumousiou steps down

The Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Koutloumousiou, the Elder Archimandrite Christodoulos, on Monday announced that he would step down as the abbot of the venerable Mount Athos monastery.
The Elder Christodoulos made the announcement before a synaxis, or assembly, of the monastery’s brotherhood.
