Noted American actor and musician Jonathan Jackson this week spoke about his latest work, his Orthodox faith and his efforts to establish an Orthodox monastery on Ireland, in an interview with Digital Journal.

Speaking weeks after his most recent visit to Greece, the Emmy award-winning performer referred to the phase of his life at present with a verse from the Apostle Paul’s second epistle to the Corinthians,  “… For we walk by faithnot by sight“.

Jackson noted that while in Greece he attended an event for the unveiling of a commemorative edition of the book “Monastic Wisdom; The Letters of Elder Joseph the Hesychast”, published by the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi on the occasion of the 60 years since the Elder’s repose. During the event, a documentary on the life of the Elder Joseph was shown, with Jackson in the title role.

Jackson, who with his family was baptized in the Orthodox Church in 2012, emphasized that he considers his role as the Elder Joseph an “incredible blessing”, echoing his comments in an exclusive interview to the Orthodoxia news agency late last year.
