Agiasmos Blessing at Saint George College in Adelaide for the commencement of the New School Year for 2023
With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and in the presence of His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope, the Agiasmos Service for the commencement of the school year was conducted for St George College.
The service was officiated by His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope, along with Fr Diogenis Patsouris (Parish Priest), Fr Konstantinos Skoumbourdis (College Chaplain), Fr Jeremy Krieg (a parent) and Deacon John Saredakis (teacher, old scholar, and parent). The principal Mr Peter Karamoshos and assistant principal Mr Paul Apostolou were also present supporting the students and their teachers. The students were extremely well behaved and prayerful throughout the service.
His Grace Bishop Silouan, upon conveying the Paternal love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, addressed the students and pointed out how peaceful and silent all the students were in the Church and how God looks towards us, sees us and waits for us. He asked students to take this silence and to use it throughout the day, whether it be at school or at home to pray to God through simple words and to cross themselves.
After the service, His Grace Bishop Silouan and Fr Konstantinos visited all of the classes and offices at the Junior and Senior Campuses to bless them.
