Yet another instance of vandalism of a remote chapel on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos was recorded this week. Photographs of the sacrilegious destruction of the chapel, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, at the Tsiramdou site, were posted by an area resident.
According to residents in the nearby village, groups of third country nationals hosted in a nearby “hotspot”, mostly males from predominately Muslim countries, are responsible for the vandalism.
