Professor and Dean Dr. Christopher Veniamin has announced that the Antiochian House of Studies (AHOS) application period for the Ph.D. in Orthodox Studies is open.
The application period is the entire month of February; a new cohort is accepted only once every two years (2016, 2018, 2020); and places are limited to approximately 10 students per class.
Blessed by His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph and approved by the California State Bureau of Post-Secondary Education, our Ph.D. Program is the first of its kind to be set in an English-speaking framework in North America. Its general purpose is to train specialists in Biblical and Patristic theology, with the specific aim of transmitting the wisdom and ethos of the Orthodox Biblical and Patristic tradition to our theologians, pastors and educators. These men and women will in turn, be better suited to raising the standards of Orthodox Christian education throughout North America and beyond.
