On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America visited Senior Rabbi Joshua Davidson at Temple Emanu-El, the first Reform Jewish congregation in New York City, on the Upper East Side in Manhattan to wish him and the Jewish community in the same neighborhood as the Archdiocese Headquarters a blessed feast of Hanukkah. This feast commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple and marks an important time for celebration and reflection in Judaism. Also known as “The Festival of Lights”, Hanukkah is a time of celebration. Archbishop Elpidophoros also assured Rabbi Davidson of his prayers for peace in the Holy Land hoping that the New Year will bring an end to this terrible conflict.
