The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, over the weekend visited the celebrating monastery of St. Nektarios, in Roscoe, New York, on the occasion of the feast day of St. Nektarios. The Archbishop attended the services venerating the memory of the saint, while officiating at the Great Vespers.

The Greek Orthodox Monastery of St. Nektarios was founded in 1999 by seven months who hailed from the Monastery of St. Anthony in Arizona, with the first hegumen, or abbot, being Hieromonk Joseph, who together with the monk Germanos, arrived in the United States from the Holy Monastery of Filotheou on Mount Athos in December 1993.
