The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, issued a message this week on the occasion of today’s World Environment Day, as the Primate of the Church of Greece noted that “… our Holy Church continuously prays to God for the conservation and protection of the environment.

He reminds us through the Holy Bible that if man wants to live in balance, peace and health in this world, he must respect and appreciate the environment as a divine creation.”

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, has long spoken out on the need for global environmental protection, conservation and the effects of Climate Change, earning the name the “Green Patriarch”.
