Archbishop Nikitas Attends the Guild of Freemen Annual Banquet
On Friday, 6th December 2024, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain attended the Annual Banquet of the Guild of Freemen at Guildhall, London. Master Lisa Rutter, of Greek Cypriot heritage, hosted the event, which brought together members of the Guild and distinguished guests.
Archbishop Nikitas offered grace at the start of the dinner at the Master’s invitation, adding a moment of prayerful reflection to the evening. The Mayor of Morphou and his wife were also present, representing Cyprus at the gathering. Although the President of the Republic of Cyprus, His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides, was unable to attend due to prior commitments, his message to the Guild was read by Master Rutter.
Accompanied by Archdeacon Dr George Tsourous, the Archbishop participated in this significant occasion, underscoring the Archdiocese’s commitment to engaging with civic and cultural life in the UK.
The Archdiocese thanks the Guild of Freemen for the kind invitation and looks forward to further opportunities for collaboration.
