Archbishop of Albania receives Metropolitan Bishop of Montenegro in Tirana

The Archbishop of Tirana and All Albania, His Beatitude Anastasios, on Monday Dec 2, 2019 received the Metropolitan Bishop of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Eminence Amphiliochios, at the old Archdiocese building in Tirana.

The meeting comes in the wake of last week’s devastating earthquake in central coastal Albania, which caused the death of scores of people and resulted in huge destruction of property.

His Eminence Amphiliochios expressed his sadness and solidarity with the Albanian people.

He also briefed the Archbishop of Albania over the problems faced by the Orthodox Church in Montenegro, namely, legislative initiatives by the Adriatic country’s government that threaten the name, dignity and property of the Church, as he said.
