The Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, His Beatitude Anastasios, has tested positive for Covid 19 virus.
According to press reports, the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church will be transported by military plane to a hospital in Athens for treatment.
The official announcement of the Orthodox Church of Albania reads:
“After the appearance of mild symptoms of the coronavirus Covid-19, it was deemed appropriate that the Archbishop of Tirana, Durres, and All Albania, Anastasios, be transferred to Athens (to the Annunciation Hospital) for the necessary medical care.
