The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Friday briefed members of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece’s Holy Synod that he will not attend a synaxis, or synod, of Orthodox Church Primates convened by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos III.
As widely expected, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Greece told Holy Synod hierarchs that only the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople has such canonical jurisdiction.
