Archbishop of Australia declared honorary member of Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand

The Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, was honored at a conference commemorating the 40-year anniversary since the establishment of the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand.
The federation’s new president, Antonis Tsourdalakis, presented the Archbishop an icon showing the four 19th century Cretan neo-Martyrs of Melambes, along with a proclamation declaring him an honorary member of the federation.
The federation also announced a 5,000-australian dollar donation to the Archdiocese’s fund-raising campaign to aid wild-fire stricken residents in Australia.
