Archbishop of Canada issues directive on statements regarding Holy Communion

The Archbishop of Canada, His Eminence Sotirios, issued a directive this week to priests in the Archdiocese regarding public statements dealing with the sacrament of the Holy Communion.
He stated that “…His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, with his respected letter … to all the hierarchs of Ecumenical Patriarchate, asks from them to avoid making statements, comments and interviews through the use of mass media and avoid engaging in other initiatives regarding the current situation.

“… I will continue not to make statements, without first obtaining instructions from our Ecumenical Patriarchate, because I believe that the Church is the Body of Christ. It is One and Holy. It is one family. No one should speak on their own authority…”
