The St. John Chrysostom Clergy Syndesmos of the Archdiocesan District met on June 6th for their annual spring meeting at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Norwalk, CT.

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros welcomed the clergy of the District and thanked all those who organized and participated in the recent Servant Leadership Award Dinner. With these reflections in mind, His Eminence added, “We are the Body of Christ, and we who are clergy are called to lead various flocks in the same way as the Good Shepherd, our Lord Jesus Christ. This means sacrifice, patience, and above all else, love.”

His Eminence also thanked Fr. Nicholas Dassouras, and the St. George parish for their hospitality. His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia was also present to greet the clergy, and give specific updates on the 2024 Clergy-Laity Congress in San Diego, CA.

Rev. Fr. Elias Villis, Chancellor of the Archdiocesan District, discussed various topics on the summer schedule, also emphasizing registration for the Clergy-Laity Congress, and other Ecclesiastical matters within the District.

Rev. Fr. Peter Orfanakos, Syndesmos President, gave summaries of recent gatherings in the District while announcing upcoming events. The recent Servant Leadership Award Dinner was a great success, honoring several volunteer leaders throughout our District.

Reports were given with special highlights on Commencement at Hellenic College Holy Cross, the Religious Education Committee and Sunday School Seminars, and ongoing preparations for Clergy Laity.
