Archons of Ecumenical Patriarchate continue official contacts in Athens
Members of a delegation of Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate continued their official contacts in Athens on Thursday.
Members of the Archons, who are honorees of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople and selected from among the distinguished laity, are in the Greek capital for a series of contacts and meetings on issues affecting the Mother Church.
The delegation is headed by the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Elder Metropolitan of Halkidona, His Eminence Emmanuel.
Delegation members on Wednesday were received by Greek Education and Religious Affairs Minister Niki Kerameos, with talks focusing on a future conference to be organized by the Archons on the topic of religious freedom.
The delegation’s members also met with the Civil Governor of Mount Athos, Athanasios Martinos.
The issue of religious freedom around the world, and especially in Turkey, where the Ecumenical Patriarchate is located, is high on the agenda of talks.
