Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and South Madagascar was ordained to the episcopate Sunday in a service presided over by Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria and All Africa and attended by the Greek deputy foreign minister responsible for religious affairs, Markos Bolaris.
In his address to Bishop Prodromos, Patriarch Theodoros emphasized the importance of prayer and having faith in God and encouraged the new hierarch to look up at the blue sky of Madagascar when in prayer.
In turn, the new bishop expressed his gratitude to his parents as well as to the patriarch, stating that the Alexandrian primate’s mission in Africa has inspired him greatly and will give him strength in his new pastoral mission on the island of Madagascar.
