Today Patriarch Neophyte received the new French ambassador, Her Excellency Florence Robin, who assumed the post in September.Bishop Gerasim of Melnik, Head secretary of Holy Synod, Bishop Polycarp of Belogradchik, Vicar of the Metropolitan of Sofia,and Father Nikolai Georgiev, Head of the Public Relations Department at Holy Synod also participated.
Ambassador Robin expressed her gratitude for the reception and shared her impressions of the monasteries and churches she visited, adding that she was particularly impressed with the Trojan Monastery. The conversation also shared thoughts on topics that excite not only Bulgarian, but the whole European society – the upbringing of the younger generation, values and the future of Europe.
Patriarch Neophyte wished a successful tenure to the new ambassador, and hopes were expressed for future meetings as well as for working together fruitfully for the benefit of society.
