The Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Neophyte, received the visiting Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, His Eminence Hilarion.
The Metropolitan, who heads up the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external Church relations (DECR), arrived in Bulgaria at the invitation of the State University of VeLIkoe Tirnavo, where he participated in a scientific and theology conference focusing on the history of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church as an object of academic study by the Russian Church’s seminaries.
