Celebrating Christmas festivity with the children in Uganda (VIDEO)
Mathew 14:19 “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
As the norm initiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanaga, every year on the 26th of December (literally referred to as the Boxing Day) immediately after celebrating the feast of the Nativity of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Sunday school children are joined together by other little ones neighboring St. Nicholas Cathedral Namungoona in celebrating what is always regarded as the “Christmas of the Children”.
This year around like the usual, this beautiful all children Christmas celebration was kick started with the Holy Liturgy led by Archbishop Jonah Lwanga as well chanted by an all conducted choir of the Sunday School Children. From reading the psalms to biblical readings as well chanting the Byzantine Liturgical style, the power of the Holy Spirit we obviously evident!. During the Sermon Session, the Archbishop stressed, “Our Lord Loves us and we aught to love Him much more than He does!”
After the Liturgical mystery, the little ones were treated to a luncheon at the St. Nicholas Spiritual Center with variety of eats and drinks and Cake Cutting to crown the birth of our Lord. The Sunday school performed a number of Christmas songs to the Archbishop mixed with dance and drama.
All the celebration was climaxed with the awarding of gifts to the best performing Sunday school students as well candy and toys to the rest of the children that were part of the nativity party festivity.
May the Name of our Lord continue to be Glorified!
